We have four different sized rooms available for hire between 8am and 10pm

The Joy Abbott Hall

This is the church part of the original United Reform Church. Currently seating is in a mix of pews and chairs.  The pulpit has been retained.  The Joy Abbott Hall can hold 150 people in a concert/church style setting. (Area 290 m²).  The balcony area will not be usable until new ‘safety’ barriers are in place (to meet modern H&S requirements).   There is  level access to the this hall from the main entrance doors facingThre is wi-fi.   the street.   Hiring The Joy Abbott Hall includes the use of Friars Hall.   A Flexistep step has been installed between Friars Hall and the Joy Abbott Hall to enable access for those with mobility issues.  A pa system is included in the hire charge and there is a hearing loop.  A Bluthner grand piano is available in this Hall, along with a Conacher organ.

Friars Hall

This has easy access with no steps into a large hall (Area 135 m²) that will seat up to 90 people and is a multifunctional open space. It has easy access to the kitchen, via a door and serving hatch, the hire cost of which is included in the room hire.   A pa system is included in the hire charge.  A hearing loop is installed.  There is an electrically-operated large, drop-down screen and Wi-fi.  Numerous chairs and tables are available.  There is also an upright piano.

Anthony Wheeler Room

A medium sized meeting room that will hold up to 20 people and also has easy access to the kitchen via a serving hatch and easy access with no steps from Friars Hall.  There is an upright piano in this room.

Green Room/Consultation/ Interview Room

This small room can be made available as a Green Room for use by musicians and others performing in the Joy Abbott Hall, and doubles for a consultation/interview room when required.   Access is via the Flexistep from Friars Hall.
