Stutton Community Hall

Stutton Community Hall offers two separate areas available for hire – the Main Hall and the Garden Room. 

Main Hall

The hall is a large bright area that will accommodate a wide range of activities. It is a great venue for parties and weddings.  The maximum numbers that can be accommodated:

• Seated at tables 100 Persons
• Mixed Occupancy (tables and dancing area) 80 persons
• Dancing 120 Persons

Bi-fold doors open out onto a patio and grass area behind the hall. Behind the hedge there is the Parish Playing field and beyond the field, a Community Wood.

Sound and Vision

The hall has a projector, a large  screen and sound equipment all of which make hiring it for a party really special.

Kitchen

There is a fully equipped modern kitchen with a double electric oven which has a 5 ring hob. Also provided is a plumbed-in water boiler, a microwave and a fridge.  There is crockery and cutlery for 90 people.

Stage

The Hall has a stage, which is accessible from either the hall, up a flight of detachable steps, or from the corridor to the left of the stage again up a set of stairs. There are loading doors for scenery and equipment at the back of the stage. The doors are about 4ft above ground level. Please note there is no special stage lighting.

Bar

There is access to the bar. We have a bottle fridge and glasses for most events

Accessibility

There is level access to all areas of the hall except the stage. There is a fully accessible toilet for wheelchair users and there are two designated disabled parking spaces adjacent to the hall entrance.

Furniture

There are 80 upholstered chairs and 70 plastic chairs.  14 Folding tables (6 feet long) and 5 Folding tables (4 feet long) 

For small children there are two low tables and about 10 chairs 

The Garden Room

The Garden Room can be hired independently of the main hall or if the occasion requires it both the Hall and the Garden Room can be hired together.

The room is approximately 7 metres squared. We have seating for 32 on attractive upholstered beech wood chairs and 5 round tables. With Bi-fold doors that open out onto the patio, the room affords pleasant views to the west facing the community shop and garden. All windows have blinds. The Garden Room has its own entrance, disabled toilet and access to the kitchenette/bar area with a hatch opening on to the room. This is an ideal location for meetings, training sessions and activities with numbers too small to use the main hall.

Car Park

There is car parking for approx 30 cars. There are two electric charging points

Community Shop

Stutton Community Shop, situated next to the Community Hall, is housed in a beautiful, purpose-built building with a patio and garden overlooking a playing field.  Run entirely by volunteers, the opening hours are 9am-4pm weekdays and 9-11am Saturday and Sunday.  The shop offers a large range of reasonably priced and, where possible, local goods. It also offers a small café, serving homemade cakes and sandwiches. If hiring the hall and require such items for your event please ask the Booking Secretary if this can be arranged.

Hours

As part of our licence we require that events finish by 12 midnight during weekdays and by 11.30 pm on Saturdays.

Licences

The venue is licensed by Babergh District Council for entertainment, plays and the showing of films. The hall has a music license under PPL and PRS.  If you require a drinks license, the hirer has to apply for a temporary event notice from Babergh District Council. 

Heating

There are storage heaters in the main hall, which maintain background heating. Additional wall heaters provide more instant heating in both the hall and the Garden Room

Electricity    

Electricity costs are included in the hire charge.

There is fast internet available
