Fornham All Saints Village Hall

The Fornham All Saints Village Hall is situated in the middle of the village on the Village Green. Unfortunately there is no parking right outside but you can park in the nearby roads near the church. The hall is available for hire, so for more information and to book, please contact Lynne Quayle 01284 766909 or or Hire charges: The cost is currently £26 per session including heating. A session being a morning, afternoon or evening. This price rises annually. There is a new kitchen with a working hob and oven, microwave, hot water boiler and fridge. We provide basic crockery, glasses and cutlery for 50 people, we suggest you supply your own for parties. Hire of furniture if not used in the hall: There is a scale of charges for the hire of chairs and tables contained within the hall if they are used away from the hall. FRIENDS OF THE VILLAGE HALL WALKING GROUP, FILM CLUB ARE OPEN & MAHJONG HOPES TO RESTART IN SEPTEMBER. TABLE TENNIS HOPING TO START IN SEPTEMBER.(Please contact Lynne if you are interested) To join the “Friends” costs £10 per year, year commencing in May. Each group has a different subscription fee. The £10 subscription enables you to join all clubs plus their other fees. The club was set up in May 2015 to enable films to be shown in the Village Hall. The “Friends” also help with fundraising, car boot sales and hall maintenance. Film Club subscription is £6 per year (starting in May) plus the “Friends” £10 subscription. Limited to 50 members. We walk between 3 and 5 mile circular route around different areas in Suffolk, journeying to that area by bus or shared car. Lunch is usually taken in a local pub or occasionally we take a packed lunch. Always remember your bottle of water, mobile phone, hat and sunscreen in the sunny weather. Always register your intention to walk. We have had walks in the following places:= 2015 West Stow; Lavenham; Mildenhall; Moulton; Thetford; Ickworth 2016 Cambridge; Pakenham; Haughley; Brandon; Sudbury; Debenham; Culford. 2017 Cambridge 2;Lavenham to Long Melford disused railway line; Barrow; Cockfield; Parts of the St. Edmund Way. 2018 For the first time, we have had to cancel walks because of adverse weather conditions. Snow in March and the very hot weather in July & August. But we have had walks in the following places and excellent lunches in the nearby pubs! Cambridge 3; Bury St Edmunds (2); Cockfield; Icklingham to Mildenhall; Hepworth and a visit to the alpacas; Rougham; Ousden; Flempton to Fornham All Saints – our “Children in Need” walk when we raised £150. 2019 Cambridge 4 (Jan.) FAS – Marham Park – FSM loop (Feb), Combs and Badley (Mar), Ingham (Apr.), Bradfield Woods & Felsham (May); West Suffolk Hospital to FAS (June); Pakenham (July); Felixstowe (August); Local walks (Sept.) Cancelled (Oct); Local walk for Children-in-need, we raised £130 (Nov); Newmarket Town (Dec). 2020 Cambridge (5th time!) Jan; Bury St Edmunds Blue Plaques (Feb); Chevington (Mar); April & May cancelled; West Stow (June); Timworth circular (July); August cancelled (heat); Great Livermere circular(Sept); October CANCELLED; Local walk for Children in need £185 raised (Nov); December – cancelled due to snow. 2021 Jan & Feb cancelled; Ixworth (Mar); Reach & Devil’s Dyke (Apr); Anglesey Abbey (May); Hopton (June); Great Thurlow (July); Sapiston (Aug) For the past four years we have walked for “Children in Need”, walking in the local vicinity and finishing at the Village Hall for a shared lunch, everyone donating £5 towards the appeal. You must be fit and healthy to take part in these walks and at all times you are responsible for your own safety. MAHJONG – suspended at the moment – hoping to restart in Sept 2021 Mahjong subscription is £3 table money per session which includes refreshments plus £10 “Friends” subscription. We meet at 9.30am on a Monday morning for two hours, twice a month. Come and join in a fun morning at the Village Hall playing mahjong. Beginners (tuition is available) and Experts both very welcome. We will all need a lesson when we return after a 18 month rest due to Covid. So an excellent time to start playing if you are new to the game.
